Position Summary

eX2 Technology is searching for an ambitious individual who is an experienced Project Manager.  This position will focus on executing telecommunications construction and systems integration projects.  This individual must have strong leadership, communication and customer relation skills.  Detailed knowledge of contracts, schedules and budget management is required.  The Project Manager will work closely with the Project Development and Sales to develop and execute projects that lead to long-term relationships for the Company.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects on time, within budget while developing and maintaining high quality customer relationships.
  • Must have detailed understanding of contractual requirements.
  • Serves as the primary point of contract for customer. Chairs regularly scheduled project status meetings to ensure timely and productive communications with customer throughout the project.
  • Works with the customer and Safety Manager to ensure a robust safety program is place. Will enforce and monitor compliance with all safety guideline and requirements.  Proactively works with customer and project team to prevent accidents and continuously improve safety performance.
  • Supports Project Development and Sales in the pursuit of new opportunities by participating in the estimating, proposal writing and customer presentations.
  • Lead, mentor and develop project staff. Includes assessment of staffing requirements and recruitment of new employees.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor performance.
  • Manage the preparation of report, budgets, and financial forecasts as required by customer and Company.

Duties & Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of fiber optics and telecommunications systems – wired and wireless.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications inside and outside plant infrastructure design
  • Knowledge of underground and aerial construction practices
  • Detailed knowledge of estimating, budgeting, project schedule and contracts
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and best practices
  • Must have demonstrated excellent leadership skills
  • Must have demonstrated customer relationship management skills
  • Must have demonstrated excellent people skills
  • Must have demonstrated excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Must have demonstrated excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft office products, MS Visio, MS Project, databases and AutoCAD

Qualification & Education

  • The ideal candidate should have 10 years of experience in the telecommunications or critical infrastructure industries with at least five (5) years of project management experience.
  • A BS degree in engineering, construction management or similar degree is required.

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The incumbent is required to walk daily on construction sites in rough terrain, and climb ladders and facilities under construction.  The incumbent is occasionally required to stand for long periods of time.  The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. And occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent may split time between work in a semi-quiet office environment and on customer sites, where there is moderate to occasional great noise levels.

Language Skills & Reasoning Ability

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and other documents.  Communicates effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
