eX2 Technology is searching for an ambitious individual who is an experienced CAD Technician to prepare Outside Plant (OSP)/telecommunications drawings for fiber construction and permit packages. The CAD Technician will be skilled in utilizing AutoCAD Map 3D or other current versions of the software. The CAD Technician must draft clear, detailed and complete drawings with accurate detail that incorporates design inputs, sketches, field notes and permitting ordinances. Must be able to comprehend, interpret and render verbal inputs from the field teams as required. A solid understanding and experience working in coordinate systems is desirable. Any knowledge and experience of other drafting programs is a plus.

An Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design Technology is desired. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in OSP design or civil engineering design using AutoCAD.
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The incumbent is required to walk daily on construction sites in rough terrain, and climb ladders and facilities under construction. The incumbent is occasionally required to stand for long periods of time. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent may split time between work in a semi-quiet office environment and on customer sites, where there is moderate to occasional great noise levels.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, and other documents. Communicates effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and pass a mandatory drug test.
