Omaha, Neb., November 29, 2016 – eX² Technology announced today the execution of a professional services agreement with the City of Batavia, IL, to provide various services in support of the city’s fiber optic network expansion plan. Driven by its commitment to enhance the quality of life for its 27,000 residents with reliable and efficient municipal services, the city is undergoing various improvement efforts to its water, sewer and network telecommunications systems.

Anticipated enhancements include connecting wastewater lift stations to the existing fiber optic network, improving and expanding network functionality and completing connectivity to substations. eX² will be providing design, engineering, project and construction management, and other consultative services during various municipal infrastructure projects. Through these efforts, Batavia will benefit from a more robust and reliable network that is capable of supporting a host of applications for improved interoperability and more efficient governmental services, as well as enhanced public safety, education and, ultimately, greater economic development.

“Progressive communities, like Batavia, have embraced broadband and understand the role, value and impact it has for their residents. Broadband provides the foundation needed to support a host of city requirements,” said Joel Mulder, Vice President of Sales, eX² Technology. “We are ready to work in partnership with Batavia to help the city meet its continuing fiber connectivity goals.”

Robert Rogde, Senior Project Engineer, City of Batavia, stated, “In addition to providing quality high-speed internet connectivity to our residents, the network will act as the platform to advance city services, as well as attract additional businesses to the area providing economic growth opportunities for the community. We are pleased to partner with eX² on our fiber optic network expansion plan. We have worked with eX² team members in the past and have experienced great results.”
