OnLight Aurora, a nationally recognized municipal network model, is a 137-mile highly reliable network constructed of 100% buried fiber optic backbone. Located within Illinois’ second largest city, it is owned and maintained by the City of Aurora and provides broadband connectivity throughout the city with direct connections into existing carrier hotels (ByteGrid, Cyrus One/Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Digital Realty - 350 E. Cermak and New Continuum).

The City designed and built the network as a means to promote economic development opportunities and new business activity through low cost, highly available and scalable broadband access. The network architecture includes a 10 Gig Metro Ethernet fiber infrastructure that offers cost-effective fiber connection options, including self-healing rings, point-to-point and DWDM lit services as well as dark fiber.

As a representative of OnLight Aurora, eX² Technology is offering its excess fiber capacity, conduit, laterals and network access points via dark fiber leasing agreements on a vendor-neutral basis.
