OSP Fiber Designer - Omaha, NE or Atlanta, GA
eX² Technology is searching for an ambitious, experienced OSP Fiber Designer. The OSP Fiber Designer should be skilled in utilizing ESRI and/or CAD-based fiber management and project tools such as ArcGIS/FM, 3GISLive and/or other GIS software for managing all OSP design information. The OSP Fiber Designer must be capable of designing detailed and complete drawings with accuracy that incorporates all design specifications, permitting ordinances, design inputs and field notes. The OSP Fiber Designer must be able to comprehend, interpret and render verbal inputs from field teams as required.

Roles & Responsibilities
Design and develop layouts for OSP fiber design.
Generation of bills of materials, splice sheets and other supporting documentation for the design.
Review of completed design for errors and efficiency.
ISP patch panel diagrams and cable rack layouts.
Write supporting documents, how-to’s and SOWs.
Duties & Skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to multitask, work on multiple projects and experience in working with a fast-paced engineering team in a production environment.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong sense of methodology, process and metrics.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation and ESRI (or other fiber design tools) is required.
High integrity and work ethic.
Telecommunications fiber network experience is desired.
Qualification & Education
Minimum 3-5 years experience in OSP Fiber Optic or related design
Experience in various GIS mapping software and fiber management software is required. AutoCAD experience is a plus.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and other documents. Communicates effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and pass a mandatory drug test.
