Permit Manager - Orange County, CA
eX² Technology is searching for an ambitious, experienced Permit Engineer. This individual should be skilled in utilizing CAD and/or ESRI software such as ArcGIS/FM, 3GISLive, AutoCAD, QGIS or other software for creating, tracking and managing permit drawings. The ideal candidate must be capable of working with utility owners, DOT and local and state jurisdictions to ascertain all permit requirements. The Permit Engineer will create/facilitate the creation of all required drawings, completing and permit applications and tracking all permits during the course of a project.

Roles & Responsibilities
Manage workflow for permit process and reporting
Create SOW documents and reports for the client
Regular update meetings with Project Managers and the client
Create supporting documents for processes
Creating and editing drawing files
Permit preparation and submittal
Coordination with utilities and government jurisdictions
Skills & Experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects coupled with experience in working with fast-paced engineering in a production environment
Strong organizational skills
Strong sense of methodology, process, and metrics
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, and ESRI (or other fiber design tools) is required
High integrity and work ethic
Telecommunications fiber network experience is desired
Qualification & Education
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in permit engineering, telecom engineering or related fields
Experience in various GIS and/or AutoCAD mapping software is required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred in related field.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and other documents. Communicates effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and pass a mandatory drug test. Some travel may be required to build working relationships with project entities in order to create smooth permit application process.
