Project Engineer - Omaha, NE
eX2 Technology is searching for an ambitious individual to fill the position of Project Engineer. This position will focus on the design of a wide variety of telecommunications projects throughout the country. The candidate must be detail oriented and have a strong background in problem solving. Roles & Responsibilities
Design of telecommunications infrastructure to include, but not limited to, fiber optic network communications equipment sites (civil engineering design), fiber optic route conduit/manhole systems, aerial fiber optic cable systems and power pole loading/structural analysis.
Responsible for tracking project progress using excel spreadsheets and databases.
Interact with CAD personnel to produce construction drawings and diagrams of designs.
Communicate with jurisdictional authorities to apply for building/construction permits that may require technical information submittals and construction drawings for specific permits. This may include city, state, federal agencies and railroads.
Develop design processes and procedures to efficiently produce construction documents.
Site visits with customers to establish design criteria.
Continuously updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
Work with management to schedule work and manage workload to meet customer and Company expectations.

Duties & Skills
Knowledge and use of spreadsheets and database.
Ability to use Google Earth.
Knowledge of telecommunications inside and outside plant infrastructure design desirable, but not required.
The use of AutoCAD or similar software as a design tool.
Knowledge of construction estimating, budgeting, project schedule and contracts desirable, but not required.
Demonstrated excellent people skills.
Demonstrated excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
Qualification & Education
The ideal candidate should have a BS in civil engineering or related scientific field of study.

The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. And occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Communicates effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and interacting with other technical personnel. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and pass a mandatory drug test.
