To many, this may look like just another infrastructure project. To us, it’s the foundation of the future.
The Atlanta BeltLine is a sustainable urban revitalization project transforming 22 miles of abandoned railroad corridor into a network of public parks, multi-use trails and a light rail transit system circling downtown Atlanta and connecting 45 in-town neighborhoods. Considered a catalyst for economic growth and renewal, the Atlanta BeltLine is a spring-board for connectivity to homes, businesses, roadways, schools and healthcare facilities, light poles, traffic signals, public safety infrastructure and much more.
In partnership with the Atlanta BeltLine, eX² Technology is designing and deploying an accelerated communications network that parallels the BeltLine. The multi-duct, fiber-rich network will be used to support the BeltLine’s internal communications and other smart city and public safety initiatives, including lighting and surveillance technology. eX² will serve as a leasing agent, marketing excess duct, dark fiber and wireless capacity to those seeking to expand their reach within the Atlanta market.
Engineering for the accelerated communications system is currently underway with construction expected to begin in January 2019.
