Associate Site Development Specialist - Chicago, IL

­Position Summary

Terra Consulting Group is seeking an Associate Site Development Specialist skilled in site acquisition, wireless telecommunications and/or city permitting and zoning to join our team. As an Associate Site Development Specialist, you will be responsible for expediting and assisting in the permitting process for telecom applications, reviewing and summarizing lease rights and leasing actions and conduct necessary research to evaluate and address right of way, ownership and zoning issues. We seek someone who can work well independently, and, in some instances, travel to site locations and building department offices may be required. Terra Consulting Group will provide direct support and supervision under a manager in our Chicagoland office.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reviewing and summarizing lease rights and leasing actions required to achieve clients’ scopes of work.

  • Conduct necessary research to evaluate and address right of way, ownership and zoning issues.

  • Coordinate site selection with the Design, Zoning, RF Engineering and Construction Management Teams. 

  • Coordinate with government and private permitting entities to obtain necessary permits for clients’ scopes of work.

  • Provide zoning and permitting of projects.

  • Coordinate with managers, consultants and contractors on project to ensure quality performance. 

  • Attend and participate in project and deployment meetings, as needed.

  • Provide complete, accurate, and timely reporting of all site acquisition and real estate activities in region

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience

  • 3+ years real estate and site acquisition experience. Leasing experience preferred

  • Experience using mapping tools (i.e., Google Earth) and conducting web-based research

  • Experience with city and local governments, in particular, Public Works and Planning departments preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Spreadsheet/database preparation and use; strong Microsoft Excel skills required

  • Ability to work efficiently and productively remotely

  • Strong understanding of public right of way/private property

  • Higher than average attention to detail for the field work
